Queridos niños y niñas de Gaza,
De todas las fotos y reportajes gráficos que estamos viendo estos dos largos meses, no puedo decir cuál me ha impresionado más. Elijo esta donde aparecéis serios, preocupados, con mirada triste pero seguros, acompañados de algunas personas adultas y reclamando vuestro derecho a vivir. Habéis tomado la palabra y quiero deciros que no estáis solos en vuestros sentimientos, y mucho menos en vuestros deseos, que somos muchas las personas adultas y niñas que sufrimos con vosotros y por vosotros, que levantamos nuestra voz allá donde nos es posible, que deseamos, sobre todas las cosas, que vuestra terrible situación finalice. Deciros que tenemos confianza en vosotros, porque sabréis levantaros, volver a vivir vuestra vida de niños sin temor, y reconstruir vuestra comunidad con vuestros familiares, vecinos y amigos. Deciros que deseamos que no sea el odio, el temor o la venganza lo que anide en vuestros corazones, sino el amor y la voluntad de dar a luz un mundo más justo, empujando, con vuestro ejemplo, a las personas adultas que tienen en sus manos las más graves decisiones.

وأريد أن أقول لك إنك لست وحدك في مشاعرك، وأقل بكثير في رغباتك، وأن هناك العديد من البالغين والأطفال الذين يعانون معك ومن أجلك، وأننا نرفع أصواتنا حيثما نستطيع وأننا نتمنى، قبل كل شيء، أن ينتهي وضعكم الرهيب.
أخبركم أننا نثق فيكم، لأنكم ستتمكنون من الوقوف على أقدامكم من جديد، والعودة إلى عيش حياتكم كأطفال دون خوف، وإعادة بناء مجتمعكم مع عائلاتكم وجيرانكم وأصدقائكم.
أخبركم أننا نتمنى ألا تكون الكراهية أو الخوف أو الانتقام هي التي تستقر في قلوبكم، بل
الحب والإرادة لولادة عالم أكثر عدلاً، دافعين بمثالكم، البالغين الذين في أيديهم أخطر الأمور قرارات.

With their own voice
Dear children of Gaza,
Of all the photos and graphic reports that we have been seeing these two long months, I cannot say which one has impressed me the most. I choose this one where you appear serious, worried, looking sad but confident, accompanied by some adults and claiming your right to live. You have taken the floor and I want to tell you that you are not alone in your feelings, and much less in your desires, that there are many adults and children who suffer with you and for you, that we raise our voices wherever we can, that we wish, above all things, that your terrible situation will come to an end. Tell you that we have confidence in you, because you will be able to get back on your feet, to go back to living your lives as children without fear, and to rebuild your community with your families, neighbors and friends. Tell you that we wish that it is not hate, fear or revenge that nestles in your hearts, but love and the will to give birth to a more just world, pushing, by your example, the adults who have in their hands the most serious decisions.
